    Your First Visit

    You may wish to speak with me on the phone before coming in for a session.  Doing so is often helpful, particularly for individuals who’ve been traumatized and find it difficult to trust again.

    My fee is $135 for a full 60-minute session.
    Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.

    Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted for payment.

    Services may be covered fully or partially by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Following each therapy session, you will be provided with a receipt with which you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company. In checking your coverage, ask the following questions:

    • Do I have mental health benefits?
    • What is my deductible and has it been met?
    • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
    • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
    • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
    • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

    HMO or PPO?

    HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) require that you see their approved HMO doctors only. PPOs (Preferred Provider Organizations) allow you to choose your doctor. However, you must ask your Insurance provider if they cover “out of network” mental health providers. Within your PPO, if you see a therapist who is on its panel of providers. you would pay your co-pay and they would pay the remaining balance agreed upon by your Insurance provider. With an “out of network” provider your co-pay MAY be higher and they may pay a smaller amount towards the remaining balance.

    Cancellation policy
    Things come up that sometimes may cause missed appointments. All I ask is that you provide at least a 24-hour notification if you cannot make a session. This allows me to book others who may be waiting for an opening. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not given at least a 24-hour advance notification, I will need to ask you to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked.
